Engineers: write documents that withstand stress
As an engineer you are also a communicator. You need to communicate with non-technical people day after day, especially clients, funders and government officials. And much of your communication happens on a web site or intranet.
User-friendly web documents are built according to standards. They have a structure that helps the reader, the writer and the site owner. Loading a document on to a web site is a bit like subjecting a building or bridge to an earthquake: the document (and the reader) is under considerable stress.
When you've done a CONTENTED course, you can be confident that you know and apply the standards that enable your writing to stand up and stand out under stress.
